Most dog training has a fatal flaw. You can do everything right — watch all the YouTube videos, graduate puppy class with flying colors, pay an arm and a leg for board and train — and still, the second you take your dog out in public, you're back to square one.

A dog who behaves in a perfectly controlled environment hasn't actually learned transferable skills. They've learned a skill in that setting. As soon as the environment changes, things go off the rails.

Urban Puppy

Socialization & the Basics (for puppies 3-8 months)

These classes focus on socialization while practicing sit, down, stay, and other foundational skills. We introduce your dog to the world at their pace, building confidence through positive exposure to new people, places, and situations.

Urban Dog

Manners & Life Skills (for teens and adults 7+ months)

These classes focus on calm behavior and attention in public. We build reliability with basic commands without bribes and help prepare dogs for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test.

Adventures

Hikes, Beaches, & Breweries (5+ months)

Adventures apply training in fun real-world settings such as pack walks, Del Mar beach, downtown La Jolla, and more. Students also become part of a supportive community of people who love their dogs as much as you love yours.

Welcome to puppyhood, where an adorable little creature bites your ankles, pees on your carpet, and treats your couch like a chew toy. It's a lot, but it goes faster than you think.

The good news is, you're right in the sweet spot for socialization. What you do in these early months matters more than almost anything else. Puppies who get positive exposure to new people, places, sounds, and situations during this stage grow into confident dogs.
